elephy<\/strong><\/em> ist ein K\u00fcnstlerinnenkollektiv und eine Filmproduktionsplattform aus Br\u00fcssel, das sich mit den Erfahrungen von Frauen, sozio\u00f6konomischen Realit\u00e4ten, Klassenunterschieden, Migration und Gemeinschaft auseinandersetzt \u2013 stets aus der Perspektive von Intimit\u00e4t und F\u00fcrsorge.<\/p>\n

Das Kollektiv hat die kommende Ausstellung LIVING APART TOGETHER<\/strong> in der Kunsthalle Exnergasse<\/strong> kuratiert, die elephys Wunsch nach Gemeinschaft \u00fcber verschiedene Orte, Produktionsmethoden und die zeitlichen Dimensionen gelebter Erfahrungen hinweg aufgreift.<\/p>\n

Bei dem Screening in der filmkoop wien<\/strong> treten die Filme der elephy-K\u00fcnstlerinnen Christina Stuhlberger, Eva Giolo, Rebecca Jane Arthur und Chlo\u00eb Delanghe in Dialog mit zeitgen\u00f6ssischen und historischen Filmen von K\u00fcnstlerInnen aus \u00d6sterreich und Belgien.<\/p>\n

A Tongue Called Mother<\/em>\u00a0depicts the relationship between language, gestures and affiliation. It slowly captures the actions and words of three generations of women in the same family and children learning to read, meditating on words learnt and forgotten through the body.<\/p>\n

In\u00a01971, a\u00a0family living in the town of Hexham was plagued by a\u00a0series of paranormal events. After bringing a\u00a0pair of small stone heads into their home, the family became terrorized by the ghostly sounds and images these objects exerted. Hexham Heads adopts an impressionistic approach to this contemporary folk\u00a0tale. Using the story as a\u00a0point of departure, the film guides us through a\u00a0multitude of spaces in which time and matter become still-frozen, stretched, and repeated. A\u00a0darkroom, an apartment, a\u00a0house, a\u00a0warehouse for construction materials, are all connected and portrayed through the spectral lens of photography.<\/p>\n
